BEER HALL WEEK: For our second beer hall on Saturday, January 11, from 3-10pm, take a waltz through 19th century Austria with a look into the cafe culture of Vienna, around the time that Anton Dreher was introducing his amber-colored lager to the world.

Showcasing new achievements in malting technology and lagering, Dreher’s lager (known then as Schwechater Lagerbier) influenced the brewing industry worldwide after its introduction in 1841. Dovetail’s Vienna Lager is a faithful nod to that: a 100% Vienna malt, double-decocted lager with a spicy noble hop profile, malty-rich, and a crisp finish. It’s one of our favorite beers, and one of the best smelling brew days (or so thinks the brewer writing this — ed.).

In addition to spotlighting our Vienna Lager at this beer hall, Beard & Belly will feature goulash as its special beer hall meal, and we’ll serve complimentary coffee Viennese-style, or Mit Schlag. Happy Mads Bakery will be on hand with their madeleine cookies to honor the elegant desserts found in an Austrian kaffeehaus.

Finally, Austria is also a beautiful wine country—and our friends at Vom Boden will demonstrate that with an Austrian wine tasting.
