Back in May, our friends from Old Town School of Folk Music and Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce came over to the brewery to help us select hops for our next Hopfenlager, because our newest Hopfenlager is a collaboration with Square Roots Festival! When the brew day came around, we welcomed friends from neighborhood businesses to throw the hops into the coolship. And that's how you make beer with Square Roots.

The hops that they helped us select for this version of Hopfenlager were the strawberry-like Strata and the citrus-y and tropical Superdelic. We took those hops, added them to a single decoction on a 100% Pilsner malt bill, and now we have a street fest-ready beer that is crisp, hoppy and real nice.

To celebrate the release of the Square Roots Hopfenlager join us on our patio for a Square Roots pre-party featuring live music and the debut of this collaboration!
